In order to be able to pull stuck shock absorber units out of the steering knuckle clamping bore or suspension joints out of the lower suspension joint mounting without damage, it is absolutely necessary to widen the clamping bore properly with an expanding tool.
The expansion tool set enables both the suspension strut clamping bore and the lower suspension joint mount on the front axle to be expanded professionally. Required, for example, when changing the spring, the shock absorber and the suspension joint.
The floating bolts prevent the spreading tool from tilting, and the special spreading wedge with stop prevents the clamping bore from expanding too much.
This prevents damage to the cast or aluminium steering knuckle housing or other chassis components as a consequence of unprofessional removal and installation attempts.
Due to the variably adjustable spreader head, even vehicles with an off-centre clamping slot are no problem!
